The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday.
The Council swore in a new police officer, Zachary Cupples, and discussed action regarding a building project at 101 South Third Street. They also adopted an ordinance creating a storm water utility and heard a request for funding from the Kiwanis Miracle Playground Project, among other items. City Manager Aaron Adams says the passage of the utility will allow repair projects to begin on infrastructure damaged by heavy flows. A special joint meeting of the council and Planning and Zoning Commission will be held tonight to select a firm to create a comprehensive and strategic plan. The meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall.
