Yes, it’s that time of year again. Battling the blistering heat, high school athletes are back on the practice fields in camps getting ready for the upcoming 2016 football season. The two-time defending Class 3A state champion Pella High Little Dutch are about a week into their training camps with practice officially beginning on Monday. They encourage parents and fans to help hydrate the Little Dutch with their Gatorade Scrimmage Night coming up in two weeks on August 19. Suggested donations are one or more 20 ounce Gatorade bottles, which will help over the course of the entire season. Players are given Gatorade at halftime of each home and away game, and any donations will go a long way to help extend through nine, and hopefully more, games. The Pella High Football Gatorade Scrimmage Night is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. two weeks from today.
