Members of the Knoxville Band with the Knoxville Music Boosters served root beer to visitors over the lunch hour yesterday at Peace Tree Brewing.
The band members set up shop and offered root beer for a free will donation to the fund for new band uniforms. Peace Tree donated the root beer, and over $800 was raised. Music booster Shannon Cahill tells KNIA/KRLS News they received a $100 check near the beginning and a student called out “that’s a pair of pants” and from then on each new donation was met with enthusiastic descriptions of what it could buy, “a glove,” a “K,” or a “chinstrap.” The Music Boosters will continue to hold fundraising events into the new school year. They need to raise a total of $60,000.
