The Knoxville Raceway faced a few challenges in the execution of this year’s Knoxville Nationals, but Kendra Jacobs with the Raceway says they were pleased with the results.
Jacobs said battling to finish races on Thursday night was a trial, but race director John McCoy was able to guide everything to a smooth conclusion and avoid a rainout. McCoy sped up the process and got racers in position even faster than usual to beat the rain. The passing of Bryan Clauson in the Belleville Nationals just a few days before the races was painful according to Jacobs. She cited the compassion of race fans all gathered together for Nationals and the many tributes to Clauson as a positive take-away from the tragedy. Jacobs also thanked staff and sponsors for making this year’s Nationals a memorable event.
