The Pleasantville Trojans will kick off the 2016 season on the road at Eddyville-Blakesburg Fremont tonight.
The Trojans coming off a 8-1 season a year ago before falling in the second round of the state playoffs to the eventual state champions. Head Coach Gabe Bakker’s looks to build off their season a year ago and it will get started against the Rockets of Eddyville-Blakesburg Fremont a team they beat easily 36-0 a year ago. In that game a year ago the Trojans ran for 255 yards and five scores against the Rockets. Two returning players for the Trojans Senior Sawyer Phillips and Junior Hunter Tyree ran for a combined 177 yards and two scores in that game and look to have that same success this year. Coach Bakker is hoping to see the same out of Philips and Tyree but has his eye on a few more weapons for the Trojans. The Trojans started hot a year ago winning their first 7 games and will look for that hot start tonight at 7pm when they kick things off against the Rockets in Eddyville-Blakesburg Fremont.
