While students are adjusting to their regular classes as school starts around the county, many of the challenges they face are ongoing throughout the academic year.
Middle school can be one of the most trying times a young teenager can face, Principal Josh Manning says, as kids begin to transition from children to teens. Manning says the staff at Pella Middle School is experienced, and administration does their best to find new teachers that can tailor their skills to the young students. Empathy is key in education, Manning believes, and he feels it’s key in moving students into high school.
