After months of passionate speeches and pleas at numerous city meetings from the neighborhood to reject numerous proposals, the Pella City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday about a zoning change request by Casey’s General Store.
Dozens of local residents are expected to attend the meeting and speak out against a Planned Unit Development ordinance for property located at the corner of Main and Union Streets in Pella. The council will review the zoning change that would allow Casey’s to build a new location on the property, which would replace three other stores in town. An ordinance has to pass three readings in order to be adopted.
The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
