The Knoxville Airport’s Fly-in and Drive-in breakfast is being held this morning.
Biscuits and gravy are being served and activities for both adults and children will be available. Airplane rides, a petting zoo, Mercy One, and the Iowa Aviation Heritage Museum are just a few of the attractions, according to Airport Manager Dan Van Doneslaar. Van Doneslaar says the annual event increases the knowledge the public has about the operation and purpose of a public airport. Van Doneslaar says few people understand all the work done at the airport. The breakfast begins at 7 a.m. and will conclude at 11 a.m. The cost to attend is $7 for adults, $4 for children under 10 and free for children 5 and under.
