Central College’s Nicole Kaplan will be installed as a Kenneth J. Weller Distinguished Professor of the Liberal Arts today.
Her public lecture and reception are in the Central College Chapel at 4 p.m. Kaplan’s presentation is titled “Forever Relevant: The Enduring Value of the Humanities in a Point-and-Click World.” Kaplan, an associate professor of French, has taught at Central since 2002. The Kenneth J. Weller Distinguished Professorship of the Liberal Arts, named after Central’s 18th president, recognizes a distinguished faculty member and provides support for teaching, research and scholarship.
