Some local area high school cross country teams will hit the road Thursday to head to Lynville Sully to run at the Diamond Trail Golf Course.
PCM, Pella Christian, Pleasantville and Twin Cedars will all be heading to Lynville Sully on Thursday. For Pella Christian the Eagles will look for another strong finish led by Annaliese Admirral on the girl’s side and Grant Dunsbergen on the boy’s side, who is coming off a 6th place finish in Johnston on September 9th. For the Pleasantville Trojans after falling to PCM on their home course on Monday the Trojans will look to rebound behind Mel Johnson and Taylor Clark and come away with another strong finish and possible medals. For Twin Cedars the Sabers will look to have a good showing against some of the traditionally stronger teams in the area with runners like Hunter Swipe and Kelli Spaur leading the way. For the PCM Mustangs, the 21st ranked runner in Class 2A Chris Ellens will look for another top finishing spot as well as Freshmen Jacob Stafford who will look to help push the Mustang boys to a better finish. The Mustang girls will look for another top finishing spot as a team behind the third, fourth, and fifth place finishers from Monday night, Klaire Jungling, Kirstin Ives and Paytan Schut. Head Coach Eric Karr knows Thursday’s meet will be a bit tougher given the competition. Some of the other schools running at Lynnville Sully on Thursday include; Colfax-Mingo, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter, Davis County, Eddyville-Blakesburg, English Valleys, HLV, Montezuma Community, Moravia Community Schools, North Mahaska, North Tama, Pekin and Southeast Warren. The runners will get things going at 4:30 pm on Thursday.
