Central College students had a chance to eat a meal featuring locally-sourced food.
Central Dining, in partnership with the sustainability department, hosted their fall semester All Iowa Food day at Central Market. Students had the chance to ask questions of local farmers supplying food to the college. Joel Veenstra, a producer in the New Sharon area, says he’s hopeful students are gaining a better understanding of where their food comes from, and the benefits of eating locally.
Central College will host another all Iowa food day in the spring during Earth Month activities on campus.
