The Pleasantville Bond Issue has unofficially passed by two yes votes, but three mail in ballots, enough to turn the tide, remain uncounted.
The bond issue requires 60% of the vote to pass and at current totals it has 60.13%. If the passage is made official on Tuesday, $6,355,000 in general obligation bonds will be issued for construction of 10 new elementary classrooms, structural updates and a cafeteria. Pleasantville Superintendent Tony Aylsworth says he is impressed with the support the community has shown for education. So far, 457 have voted yes and 303 voted no. KNIA/KRLS News will provide updates on the election as soon as results are made official.
