Many who call Iowa home worked to help the state become the healthiest in the nation through a statewide initiative yesterday.
The Healthiest State in the Nation walks were located throughout the county. A joint event with Pella Corporation and Central College was among more than half-a-dozen walks in the Tulip City. Assistant Dean of Students Kristi Leonard feels in order to reach the goal of being number one, it takes an overall approach to improving wellness.

Nutrion Services Coordinator with Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Hannah Ostrander says they participated in the statewide program to remind everyone of what steps they can take to living healthier lives.
Organized, public walks were held in all 99 counties. Pleasantville Schools also participated.
