Despite some injuries and a crowded competitive field, the Pleasantville Girls Cross Country team would meet expectations and finish in fourth place at the Pride of Iowa Conference Meet last night.

For a team that had one girl finish in the top 20 last season, the Trojans girls impressed with three girls in the top 21 places. Mel Johnson would finish in 15th, healthy for what seems to be for the first time this season Jordan Dursky finished in 20th, and Taylor Clarke took home 21st place.

On the boys side of things, Josh Pulse would place 12th to have the top spot for the Trojans. Both girls and boys squads for the Trojans will next have a chance to compete for the State Tournament next Thursday at their qualifying site at Ankeny Centennial with other area schools Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars.
