This year’s Knoxville Cancer Relay begins today.

Free will donations will be accepted to contribute to this first event of many that make up the yearly effort for Coaches versus Cancer. A map of this year’s route can be found below. A kick-off party at the Ken Locke begins at 5:30 p.m. and a cancer survivor walk around the track at 6:30 p.m; all cancer survivors are welcome to participate. Organizer Brian Hatch says Coaches versus Cancer shows off some of the greatest things about the Knoxville Community. The relay starts at 7:00 p.m. Vehicles from the police and fire departments will lead the first leg of the relay and the KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be at Ken Locke Stadium throughout the event making announcements and playing music.
