Both Pella cross country teams and an individual each from Pella Christian and PCM are hoping to make their mark at the state meet in Fort Dodge today.

The No. 1 Pella girls and No. 6 Pella boys are making their 11th consecutive trip to state together. Hopeful for their first ever team championship, the Lady Dutch led by former individual champion Tess Roorda will begin at noon. Head Coach Doug Cutler tells KNIA/KRLS Sports no matter the end result, this group of girls had had a special season and they are ready to compete hard with the best.

Pella’s boys race at 12:30 and look to build on big strides made at the state qualifier over a week ago.

Two individuals will race representing local schools, both in class 2A. No. 8 ranked Chris Ellens and No. 18 Grant Dunsbergen will run for PCM and Pella Christian respectively in their second straight state race at 1:30 p.m.

Tune into KNIA/KRLS this afternoon for updates and reports from the 2016 state cross country meet in Fort Dodge.
