It’s the old coaches cliché – it’s hard to beat the same team three times. Pella’s number one ranked volleyball team hopes to prove that wrong tonight.

The Lady Dutch host Norwalk, with the winner earning a spot in the class 4-A state tournament.

Coach Catie Brand’s club won a hard-fought four-set match in September in Norwalk, then whipped the Warriors 2-0 earlier this month in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament.

“As we prepare to play them a third time, it’s hard to know – is it going to be the close version, is it going to be Pella on top, are they going to bring something different? They have a great coach, they’re an aggressive team. I know they’re going to be well prepared for us and we’ll be prepared for them too.”

First serve between the Lady Dutch and Norwalk is tonight at 7:00 at Pella High School.
