Pella High School government students participated in a straw poll this week ahead of the election.

Teacher Mark Core tells KNIA/KRLS News their normal curriculum includes analysis of political ideology, political socialization, and party preferences. The actual Clinton vs. Trump campaign dynamics have been covered through daily current event reports as well. In terms of the straw poll vote among students, Donald Trump won the presidential race in a landslide, 53-12-12 over Hillary Clinton and Gary Johnson. Chuck Grassley and Dr. Christopher Peters won in the student’s poll as well.
