The PCM Mustangs will head into Fridays game with a chance to go to the Uni Dome for the first time since 2006 and only the 3rd time in the programs history.
One of the major reasons for the success of the PCM program in this 2016 campaign has been the balance on offense. Led by Seniors Sheldon Speers and Luke Greiner the Mustangs have had just over 2,500 yards through the air and 32 touchdowns. On the ground Sophomore Wes Cummings has led the team with 151 rushing attempts that have contributed to the 2,173 yards on the ground and 32 touchdowns. One of the aspects that Head Coach Greg Bonnett has pride in when it comes to his offense is its ability to adapt to what opposing defenses have done to try to slow it down. With the ability to run and throw with major success all season, it makes it tough on opposing defenses to try to figure out the best way to slow down this Mustang team. With the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines coming to Monroe on Friday to battle the Mustangs for the right to go the the Uni Dome the Wolverines will have to come with a solid game plan on defense if it wants to come out of Monroe with the upset. The Wolverines gave up 408 yards of offense in their round one match up with Southeast Valley, 314 of which came through the air. Whichever way the Wolverines try to slow down the PCM Mustang offense, the Mustangs will look to counter and exploit whatever areas they can, just like they have all season long.
