As the sun set Wednesday, the community of Pleasantville gathered for a candlelight vigil to honor the officers who fell in the line of duty in the Des Moines metro early that morning, as well as to express their thanks to the officers who serve their community.
The group of 150 sang hymns, shared their appreciation for the efforts of local law enforcement and heard the words of local Minister Clinton Wallace with Fairview Christian Church, among other religious leaders. Wallace tells KNIA/KRLS News we should remember the sacrifices officers make every day. Des Moines Sgt. Tony Beminio and Urbandale Police Officer Justin Martin were killed in an ambush early Wednesday morning.
