While Pleasantville junior Hunter Tyree may have his position listed at running back for the Trojan Football Team, the lightning quick athlete did most of his damage through the air for the Trojans as quarterback Owen Worthington’s favorite target.
Tyree caught 44 balls over the course of the season, which is nearly half of the entire completes the Trojans had all season, for 639 yards and eight touchdowns. The other top receiver for the Trojans squad came on late in the season, but Gauge Van Haalen caught 8 touchdowns on the season after battling some injuries to supplement Tyree’s production.
The pair of wide receivers, plus quarterback Owen Worthington coming back with more experience and his senior season, will look to put the Trojans over the top next season as they reach for the goal of a district championship.
