A key demographic in the past two presidential elections are engaging in the political process at Central College and other campuses nationwide.
Professor of Political Science Andrew Green says students have been participating in election related activities since the first presidential debate.
“We saw a significant number of our students take advantage of our voter registration opportunities here on campus over in the Maytag Center as well as the Central Market,” he says. “We saw a significant number of our students take advantage of the satellite voting station that was in Maytag Center, and voting early here on campus.”
Green says understanding the impact of younger voters, especially in a year where they may not be as involved as other recent presidential races, will be one of many facets of this year’s election he looks forward to studying.
Green will take part in a live election show with colleagues and Dr. Bob Leonard at Fred’s in the Maytag Student Center from 8-11 p.m on KNIA/KRLS tomorrow evening.
