Two Former Knoxville Athletes one, current Simpson College defensive tackle Jake Stearns and his twin brother Joe who is playing at Wartburg recently earned College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District eight First Team honors for the 2016 season. Jake is an athletic training major, holding a 3.84 cumulative grade point average. He is the leading tackler among defensive lineman in the Iowa Conference, entering the final game of the season with 70 stops on the year. Joe is a biology major with a 3.96 G-P-A. He has 15 tackles for the Knights this season with seven solo and two sacks.
