Tyler Hillman has committed to play baseball at North Dakota State University.
The senior is a two time all-state player at Pella High, and he made his decision official with a ceremony yesterday afternoon in the school library.
Afterwards, he told KNIA/KRLS Sports why he chose the Bison to further his baseball career.
“First off it was just the coaching staff, and I have family up there. My recruiting advisors told me about it, but I didn’t know what to except when I got up there. I knew they had great tradition, so I went up there, and I was totally impressed with the coaching staff. I stayed with the players, and I was just overall impressed with the facilities and the school in general, so it was a perfect fit for me.”
Hillman says that he plans to study biology and pre-med sciences at North Dakota State, with plans of a career in orthopedics or physical therapy. He says that will allow him to stay involved in athletics after his playing career is over.
