One person was injured after she was hit by a car in Pella Saturday afternoon.

Pella Police say the female pedestrian was crossing West Third Street and Independence by Central College during the noon hour when a sedan heading southbound hit her in the south crosswalk at the intersection, which is a four-way stop.

She was transported to Pella Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating why the driver, whose identity has not been released, hit the woman.
