Pella Christian volleyball coach John Evenhouse says that one of the best things that happened to his club this year was that they learned to win.

The Eagles finished 25-13 on the season, bolstered by a whopping 14 game winning streak in the middle of the season.

“All of a sudden in took hold in their brains that, hey, we can play this game and we can go out in pressure situations and play well. And they felt that they could win. As the season went on later in the year, we faced some tougher teams again, and that made it a little bit tougher. We played even at the beginning of the year and even at the end of the year, and in the middle of the year we just had a great stretch.”

Pella Christian’s season fell one match short of the state tournament, falling to St. Albert Council Bluffs in the regional final.
