Helping Hands in Knoxville is reaching out to the community for turkeys to be donated by this afternoon for Thanksgiving Food Baskets.

Chuck Galeazzi with Helping Hands says he had expected to receive the needed birds, but came up short. Galeazzi says he had 60 baskets to fill with turkeys. Family Video has donated 20 turkeys and staff at helping hands tells KNIA/KRLS News 18 turkeys have been donated so far today. With 22 baskets left to fill, Galeazzi says donated frozen turkeys can be dropped off in the alley behind Helping Hands at 117 E Main St until 3:00 p.m. today. They can also be dropped off at the KNIA/KRLS studio. Continue to help KNIA/KRLS feed the hungry people of Marion County with the KNIA/KRLS Holiday Food Drive.
