Terri Gilbert was waiting for a tow truck to haul away her family’s only vehicle, when she picked up the phone to hear the voice of Knoxville Hy-Vee Manager Brett Shelman telling her she had won the Hy-Vee Fuel Saver Truck Giveaway.

Talking to KNIA/KRLS News after going for her first ride in the new Ford F-150 she won, Gilbert shared that up until the call she had been worried about what her family would do without a working vehicle, but the win changed all that in a heartbeat. Shelman says a better ending to the contest couldn’t be written. He was pleased that Gilbert won the car and happy to help out in her time of need. Hy-Vee customers were entered in the Give-away every time they swiped their fuel saver card.
