Law enforcement around the state will have extra patrols on the roadways.

Lt. Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department says they, among many agencies, are participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau sTEP wave through November 27th.

“With the number of vehicles out there on the road during the holiday time and holiday travel, we just really encourage everyone to slow down, wear their seat, and not drink and drive,” he says.

He also says to avoid distracted driving to keep others safe on the road.
