The risk of fire near a residential propane tank drew several departments to a scene northeast of Knoxville Sunday night.
The Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Clay Township Fire, the Pella Rural Fire Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were called to a house fire at 1503 Jersey Drive in Knoxville after 7 p.m. KNIA/KRLS News on scene observed flames and smoke pouring out the roof of the home, but crews quickly confined the fire and used hooks and chainsaws to break up the impacted parts of the building and search for hotspots. First responders tell KNIA/KRLS News the homeowner called 911 and no injuries were reported. Marion County records indicate William Logan South is the deed holder. No cause has yet been established for the fire.
