Emergency crews responded to multiple accidents causing injuries and serious damage over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
On Thursday morning, multiple agencies responded to a vehicle that flipped over five times and came to a rest in the median near Mile Marker 44 on Highway 163. The Pella PD, Pella Rural Fire, Pella Ambulance, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol all responded. The lone occupant was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
On Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m., a Dodge caravan driven by an Ottumwa woman lost control near the eastbound exit ramp on 163 at Mile Marker 42. The lone vehicle was overturned off the shoulder on the right side of the road after the driver over corrected in the left lane. Two people, both from Ottuwma, were transported to Pella Regional Health Center.
Police received a 911 call Sunday evening for a vehicle that hit a parked car in the 1300 block of Main Street. Pella Ambulance responded after dispatch received reports of airbag deployment.
