This fall, all four Pella High athletic teams finished in the top five in the state, and two of the coaches have been honored for their accomplishments.

Catie Brand, who led the volleyball team to the school’s first ever runner-up finish at the state tournament, has been named the 4-A district coach of the year.

Doug Cutler, who led the girls to a similar runner-up finish, and the boys to a fifth place showing, received at-large coach of the year recognition for both programs.
