The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad is two-and-oh and had to work an extra four minutes to get the win last night over Bondurant-Farrar 72-68 in overtime as heard on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA. The game was close throughout neither team never leading by more than nine all game. The Panthers had that nine point lead and seemingly had the game under control with two minutes left in the third when the Bluejays closed the third on an eight/nothing run to close the gap to one. Neither team could get control in the fourth, however both teams had chances to win in the closing seconds. The Panthers got great games from several players. Coach Jeff Larson says that is what he likes about his team. Patrick Crawford and Ben Wallace led the scoring for Knoxville with 17 points each, Chase Larson had 16. Knoxville is now 2-0 on the season. The Panthers girls got their first win of the season…pulling away in a ragged game in the fourth quarter 35-14 over Bondurant-Farrar. Neither team was able to get any flow the first three quarters but Knoxville outscored the Bluejays 16-5 in the final quarter to pull away for the 21-point win. Katie Keitges led the scoring with 14 points. Knoxville is now 1-2 on the season. Both Panther teams take tonight off, but get back to action Saturday at Oskaloosa.
