Out of a possible five winners, Central College student-athletes picked up three Iowa Conference Performer of the Week honors in their respective sports.

Women’s basketball player Claire Marburger picked her up second honors of the season, while women’s track and field athlete Morgan Koenigs and men’s track and field athlete Will Daniels received the honor for the first time in their careers.

In a 64-51 Central victory against the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Marburger lit up the scoreboard for 30 points. She added 13 rebounds to garner her fourth double-double of the year.

Competing in the pentathlon at the Charlie Foster Pre-Holiday Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Koenigs placed ninth with 2,908 points and set personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles (10.15 seconds) and the shot put (33 feet, 0.25 inches).

In his first collegiate heptathlon, Daniels placed sixth in the 16-man field at the same Pre-Holiday Classic. He scored 4,363 points, largely by excelling in the jumping events. He went 21 feet, 6.25 inches in the long jump to place fourth and cleared 6-6 in the high jump to take second.
