Arctic wind chills and snow made the outdoors and travel hazardous for many over the weekend.
Windchill values of 32 degrees below zero were observed in Knoxville and 31 below was recorded in Pella Sunday morning. Countywide, 1-2” of snow fell Saturday, which caused visibility issues as winds topped out near 30 MPH. A warm up is expected this week, with high temperatures above freezing expected beginning Tuesday and remaining in place through Christmas Eve.
