Knoxville Hy-Vee Store Director Brett Shelman tells KNIA/KRLS News Hy-Vee’s participation in the KNIA/KRLS Holiday Food Drive is part of their greater commitment to the community.

Hy-Vee has done specials on certain items where a portion of the proceeds benefits the Food Drive, hosted the KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio so that shoppers could donate food and is currently participating in a round up program in which cashiers ask shopper if they want to round up the cost of their purchase, with the difference going to the Food Drive. Shelman says helping to feed people in the community is a natural extension of Hy-Vee’s business model. Hy-Vee feels it is important to be a part of the cities it serves. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be at Knoxville Hy-Vee today collecting food, broadcasting live and playing music. The Pella Hy-Vee is partnering with KNIA/KRLS to make their annual drop off today. All of the food was donated by Hy-Vee customers with purchases made during the KNIA/KRLS Holiday Food Drive.
