The Knoxville Public Library is hosting 93-year-old Charles “Chuck” Walter today.
Walter is the oldest living POW in Marion County and will talk about being shot down over Germany in World War 2, his time in a prison camp and his return home. Librarian Roslin Thompson is excited to host a piece of living history. She says Walter has been interviewed by the Veteran’s History Project at the Library of Congress. Walter will begin his program at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.
