93-year-old Charles “Chuck” Walter spoke at the Knoxville Public Library Friday afternoon.

Walter is the oldest living POW in Marion County and told stories about being shot down over Germany in World War 2, his time in a prison camp and his return home. Walter has been interviewed by the Veteran’s History Project at the Library of Congress. A crowd of more than 40 attended the program.
