Local high school musicians will get to perform among some of the best in the region this weekend.

The South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) has announced their annual honor bands, including one made up of juniors and seniors and another with 9th and 10th graders. The following students were included among the older students after last week’s auditions:

Zach DeYoung – Pella – French Horn 1
Spencer Marsh – Knoxville – French Horn 1
Emily Kriegel – Pella – Clarinet 3
Jason Lee Grantz – Knoxville – Base Clarinet
Nathan Vermeer – Pella Christian – Trombone 2
Scott Malloy – Knoxville – Trombone 3
Miles Wichhart – Pella Christian – Percussion
Rachel Stafford – PCM – Flute 2
Courtney Bridges – PCM – Flute 2

Nine Pella students were listed in the 9th and 10th grade ensemble as well. The festival is at Ankeny High School all-day Saturday.
