The Knoxville School Board met in regular session last night at the school administration building.
The board approved a lease purchase agreement with Apple Inc. for new staff computers to replace 7 year-old models and reviewed the final report on the construction of West Elementary. The building was completed for just under $6.6 million, about 10% less than the original project bid. Board members thanked Estes Construction of Davenport, who managed the project, and the teachers and school maintenance staff for their contributions and cooperation. The board also approved a contract with Wells Fargo Arena that will see the Knoxville Panther Boy’s basketball team play at the venue on February 13. The school must sell 200 tickets to the Iowa Energy game, which will follow the contest between Knoxville and Carlisle. The tickets will be sold for $10. At the end of the meeting the board went into closed session for a mid-year performance review of Superintendent Cassi Pearson.
