Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian tells KNIA/KRLS News road workers have already begun preparing for their busy spring and summer schedule.

Christian says in order to complete all necessary maintenance and road improvements crews must start early on a long list of preparatory tasks. Trucks and equipment must be inspected, forms are constructed for culvert improvements and road graders make lists of problem areas they will focus on for maximum effectiveness.Christian says this preparation pays off when work begins in the warmer weather and prevents costly downtime, saving the county money and labor.
