Central’s basketball teams were swept last night at home by Nebraska Wesleyan.

The Dutch women dropped a back-and-forth battle, 80-71, their seventh consecutive setback.

Central led the Prairie Wolves 30-28 at the half but Nebraska Wesleyan utilized a 52-point second half to edge the Dutch.

Claire Marburger had 21 points, six rebounds and three assists, Emily Dine added 16 points off 6-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and Alison Mallaby had 15 points and four steals.

Central drops to 8-9 overall and 1-7 in the IIAC.

The Central men squandered a 3-point halftime lead in a 93-86 loss.

The Dutch were led offensively by Colby Taylor with 22 points and eight rebounds, Pete Walker had 19 points and four rebounds in his first game back from injury, and Trashawn Boyd and Kyle Smith reach added 15.

Central falls to 9-8 overall and 3-5 in the league.

Both squads continue league play tomorrow night with a women’s-men’s doubleheader at Dubuque.
