The Iowa Senate has passed their version of budget cuts aimed to close out a $118 million shortfall this fiscal year.
State Senator Ken Rozenboom tells KNIA/KRLS News the Senate version of a proposal was able to lessen the impact of some of the reductions through using different fund reserves.
He says many of the departments and organizations impacted will be feeling the effects of cuts for some time. The Iowa House of Representatives will consider the bill passed by the Senate Monday.
