It was a successful road trip for the Little and Lady Dutch to Norwalk, where the boys won 67-56 and the girls won 54-26 in a doubleheader heard live on kniakrls.com.

Pella’s boys had their hands full guarding the free shooting guard duo of Luke Vaske and Bowen Born, who racked up nine made shots combined from beyond the arc.

But the Little Dutch ramped up defensive pressure late in the 3rd quarter, sparking a 26-7 run until halfway through the 4th period.

Senior Donovan Holterhaus says they made key adjustments to flip the switch on Norwalk, who came out of the halftime break red hot.

The Little Dutch out-rebounded Norwalk unofficially 40-18, and was led by 11 points and 11 boards from Nick Finney, 10 off the glass from Nick Dejong, and seven rebounds from Tyson Wassenaar.

Pella’s girls had smooth sailing in their continuous clock rout of Norwalk. The Lady Dutch were sparked by ten 1st-quarter points from Ciara Buchheit and nine points from Kiara Bradley in the 3rd to get the clock rolling for the duration.

The Little Dutch are 16-1 and one win away from clinching at least a share of the conference title, Pella’s girls are 14-4. Both host Newton Friday.
