A Marion County jury returned a guilty verdict against Laura Ann Allen of Pleasantville after she was charged and convicted of Assault Causing Bodily Injury stemming from an incident in Pleasantville that took place in November of 2016.

The assault took place over an argument over a text message between the victim’s boyfriend and Allen’s boyfriend which resulted in physical altercation. During the fight between the two boyfriends, Allen assaulted the victim jumping on top of her and striking her multiple time eventually causing a puncture wound in the victim’s cheek as well as a large contusion to the victim’s forehead. Sentencing of Allen is set for February 24th. Allen could face up to 1 year in jail and a fine of up to $315.00
