A Jefferson man was arrested Sunday for driving under suspension and theft in the 2nd degree, a Class D felony.

Wayne Paul Johnson Jr., was taken into custody after a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a home in Harvey. The deputy ran the plate on the vehicle and found it was reported as stolen. Upon further investigation the deputy discovered Johnson on the porch of the residence. Johnson told the deputy he borrowed the vehicle from a person at a casino in Tama, where the vehicle was reported as stolen. Johnson was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail with his initial hearing date scheduled for February 14th.
