The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad defeated Grinnell last night 68-60. The Panthers started hot from the field and kept shooting well all game. The Panthers held at five point lead late when Blake McClung nailed the three pointer then made a game clinching defensive play with less than a minute left. The Panthers would shut the door at the line. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS Sports the first half shooting set the tone. Three Panthers were in double figures led by Chase Larson with 17 points…Cade McNeill had 16 and Patrick Crawford with ten. Knoxville is now 15-and-five on the season. The girls knew they would have a tough time with Grinnell and the Tigers bolted out to a 22-point lead early on never looked back as the Panthers fell 76-to-38. Katie Keitges scored 14 points to lead Knoxville who finish the regular season at eight-and-13 and will face Des Moines Hoover on Wednesday in the first round of the class four-A regional…while the boys will play Carlisle in Wells Fargo Arena Monday afternoon at four-30.
