City departments presented their budget plans to the Pella City Council this week.

The Library, Electric Department, Community Services, and Pella Police went over their goals for the next fiscal year Monday.

The city anticipates spending $38 million in the next fiscal year, about 20 percent less from 2017 due to large capital improvement projects taking place in recent budget seasons. The city aims to maintain their property tax rate for 16 years in a row, which remains among the lowest in the state at $10.20 per $1000.

A second public workshop will be held by the Pella City Council tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
