A report by the National Weather Service confirms two tornadoes touched down near Knoxville Monday evening.

The first was located five miles west of Knoxville, with wind speeds predicted at approximately 100 MPH, an EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The funnel was on the ground for nearly a mile and for one minute at 7:32 p.m. An outbuilding was heavily damaged in this area and significant roof damage occurred to a residence.

A second tornado touchdown occurred approximately four miles north of Knoxville near Lake Red Rock at 7:37 p.m., and was on the ground for about a mile and a half. Roof damage occurred to a residence with large sections of shingles removed along with sporadic tree damage. A double-wide trailer rolled. No injuries were reported. The tornado was estimated to have winds between 85 and 95 MPH, also an EF1.
