Iowa State Savings Bank in Knoxville has installed an anti-skimming device on their drive-up ATM, in an effort to help prevent fraud.
Thieves have been using hidden electronics devices to copy personal data from the magnetic strip on ATM cards at gas stations and stores. Iowa State Savings Bank partnered with TMD Security to help prevent skimming. Bank President Bob Wims tells KNIA/KRLS News the bank has noticed some recent debit card fraud at local grocery and convenience stores and the bank wanted to ensure its customers they were doing all they could to prevent the potential fraud. Wims adds, “we wanted to help ensure our customers and others who use our ATM, can do so without worry of their debit card being compromised.”
